Brian Lara has vowed to resign as West Indies captain if his side fail to beat Test-fledglings Bangladesh in Jamaica.

West Indies cricket has reached crisis-point following a draw in the first Test with Bangladesh in St Lucia and after the 3-0 home series defeat to England.

Lara has put his job on the line and said that unless victory is achieved in the second and final Test in Jamaica, he may not lead his young West Indies side on their tour of England later this summer.

"If we don't win then I don't think I am going to lead the team to England," he told a pre-match news conference. "If we don't beat Bangladesh in five good days of cricket, we need another leader."

The West Indies have called up Omari Banks for the Jamaica Test. Bangladesh are expected to name an unchanged line-up.

West Indies: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Omari Banks, Tino Best, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Pedro Collins, Fidel Edwards, Chris Gayle, Ridley Jacobs, Jermaine Lawson, Ravi Rampaul, Devon Smith, Dwayne Smith.

Bangladesh: Habibul Bashar (captain), Alamgir Kabir, Alok Kapali, Enamul Haque Jr, Faisal Hossain, Hannan Sarkar, Javed Omar, Khaled Mashud, Manjural Islam Rana, Mohammad Ashraful, Mohammad Rafique, Mushfiqur Rahman, Rajin Saleh, Tapash Baisya, Tareq Aziz.
